Born and raised along the banks of the Mississippi, Michelle hails from the heart of a River family. Rooted deep in community values, she learned the importance of unity and support at a young age. With family and friends working on the Mississippi River, it wasn't about wealth. It was about friends reaching out during trying times. It was about a tight community that thrived on togetherness.
Empowered by her upbringing, Michelle dreamt big. Even as a young girl amidst a bustling family of five, her vision was clear: she wanted to be an attorney. This dream wasn't without its challenges. Pioneering the academic journey in her family, she tackled countless student loans, made sacrifices, and navigated the maze of higher education. But with an undying spirit, fueled by prayer, determination, and sheer hard work, Michelle not only achieved her dream but graduated with honors. Today, she stands tall with expertise in maritime, environmental, and insurance laws.
After serving the corporate world for nearly three decades, Michelle's heart called her back to her roots. Witnessing the transitional phase of St. Rose, she recognized the need for genuine attention to local issues, from essential infrastructure like drainage to enhancing the quality of life.
But Michelle's journey goes beyond legal chambers. Her heart beats for the community, especially the children. As a court-appointed special advocate (CASA), she's unified families, ensuring children get the love, care, and opportunities they deserve. This role has ignited her vision for St. Rose's youth, advocating for recreational opportunities that will harness their potential, nurture their wellbeing, and showcase the immense talent within our community.
As a woman, Michelle deeply understands the essence of empowerment. She's not just a beacon for women in District 5 but an inspiration for all, proving that dreams are achievable with persistence. Her story resonates with every woman who's ever had a dream, faced challenges, and emerged victorious. Through her journey, Michelle aspires to empower the women of St. Rose, reminding them of their strength and urging them to reach back and uplift the community.
